Friends of Big Muddy is a volunteer organization that supports the Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge. At this point, we have decided not to have formal members of the organization. This means there are no dues to belong, and generally no fees for our activities (although occasionally we do charge a minimal fee for activities, but these are noted in the activity description).

Since there is nothing to join, all we do is maintain a Yahoo Group to e-mail information about our activities a week or two before they happen. If you would like to get these messages, send an e-mail to: FriendsofBigMuddy-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Notices will arrive as things are planned, generally one to two notices a month.

E-mail communication and volunteer efforts has made it possible for us to operate with minimum costs. We do occasionally hold fund raising activities to cover some basic administration fees (we have great garage sales). However, if you would like to donate money to us, we won't turn it down, and we will put it to good use! Donations can be send to:

Note that although we operate on a non-profit basis, we do not have the legal designation as a non-profit organization (yet), so donations are not tax deductible.
